Skin Care tips for Summer

Hello Readers.

Summer is the season when you have to take special care of your skin. You may be surprised that your summer skin, which looked radiant throughout winter, suddenly looks dull, blemished and oily. For people who enjoy winters, summers are dreadful! Your skin feels oily and sweaty throughout the day and you might find yourself skipping on a few essential products. Here’s a list of things that will help you get through this summer season effectively.

1. Cleanse your face – This is important to do even if you've been outside or at home all day! In summer months, your skin tends to get sticky even when you have been indoors for a while due to the humidity. Wash your face with a gentle face wash twice a day to clean off any dirt from the skin.

2. Toning- It is essential for oily skin as it reduces open pores on face and evens the skin tone and helps to remove tan. Astringent should be used carefully. Pour a little amount of toner on a cotton ball and apply gently on face except the eyes. Never rub the cotton ball on skin. Let it dry. One can also use rose water as a toner which soothes skin and makes it glow.

 3. SPF is Must – The sun is at it’s peak between 10 am and 4 pm. Try staying indoors at that time as it can have an adverse effect on your skin. Make sure that the sunscreen is applied at least 20 minutes before you step out. To protect your skin all through the day, generously reapply sunscreen every 2 hours as sunscreen wears off, sweats off and rinses off if you are out in the sun. According to skin specialists, an SPF-30-40 should be used during summer.

4.Stick with waterproof or no makeup – All of us would want to look our best in the summer, but when the temperatures get high, makeup becomes a mess. If you’ve ever felt your foundation looking cakey and dry, or discovered lines form around your eyes five minutes after going outside, you know that you need to stop applying so much makeup! Let your natural glow shine through, especially when it’s hot. If you do need to wear makeup, stick with everything waterproof, and try not to overdo it because in summers less is more.

5. Drink up – Most people have the tendency to quench their thirst with an ice cold aerated drink on a hot day. Aerated drinks contain high amounts of sugar which is not good for your skin. Stick with drinking water or fresh fruit juices or the best summer cooler –naariyal paani to stay hydrated. Drinking a lot of water (15-20 glasses a day) and liquids will help the skin stay soft, hydrated and moisturized as well. Drop a slice of lemon or simply squeeze out it’s juices into your water bottle and sip throughout the day. The citric acid in lemons helps to keep kidneys healthy and is high in vitamin C, which means they will improve your immune system.

6 .Blotting paper to your rescue – Using oil blotting sheets during the day will control the shine by removing the oils from your skin.

7. Give yours hands and feet some attention too – Your summer skin care routine ought to include a little attention to your fingers and toes! All winter, your feet were pampered with soft woolen socks, but now, they’re tortured with hot sand, and dirt. Treat them to a mani-pedi once a month.

8.Store your products in the refrigerator – If your skin is prone to redness especially when out in the sun , it’s best to keep your products in the refrigerator. The coldness will reduce the dilation of the capillaries and help in subsiding the redness.

I hope these few tips will be helpful for you for this summer season.
Put on your glasses and rock in summers.

You need few basic things to achieve this look.

1.Super black Kajal
2. A medium brown eye shadow
3.liquid or gel liner
4.Mascara
5.Blending brush

  1. Moisturise and Prime your lids with an eye shadow primer.I am using MAC studio fix concealer to correct my dark lids as it will act as a primer too.

 2. Now Apply any black kohl all over the lids. I am using MAC black kohl pencil.Don’t go over the crease and don’t worry about precision. We’d blend it later.

3.Now smooth out the black colour with a tapered fluffy brush and soften the edges.

4.Pat some brown eye shadow on your crease line.It will be your transition shade and also smoke out the black colour and This way you’d get the intensity of the eye shadow. Blend both the colours together.

5. Apply a gel liner on your upper  and lower lash line and create a small wing on the outer corner.

6..Apply a light colour compact or eye-shadow on your brow bone to highlight your brows.

7.Now apply two good coats of your favourite mascara on both upper & lower lashes. You can put on some false eye lashes if you want.

8.Now clean out the edges you may have any fall outs of eye-shadow or mascara with a clean cotton bud.

9.Apply concealer under your eyes to highlight your eyes.

10.I added a lil blush on my cheeks and a nude colour lipstick from Milani on my lips to complete the look.

You can get all glammed up in no time.

For your morning-to-night makeover, keep it simple. For daytime, a single eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara is all you need, For evening sizzle, tweak your application and add a dash of sparky color.

1. Touch-up Your Base
By the end of the day, your foundation can get a little washed out and appear oily around your T-zone. It can look cakey too. To avoid more mess by the night, touch it up a bit.You can use a simple compact powder to sooth out your skin or reapply a light layer of foundation using a sponge or beauty blender for flawless application.

2. Change Your Lip Color
As we all know, a nice lipper gives an instant boost to the mood as well as to the whole look. Just remove all the traces of the lipstick applied, put on some lip balm and apply a bright striking beautiful shade that does the trick.

3.Let your Eyes Talk
From light and sultry look or almost nude eye makeup, to intense bright and sparky eyes. Add more drama by applying an intense black liner on the upper as well as on the lower lash line. Add a darker color to define the crease. You can apply a winged eyeliner with ofcourse loads of Mascara.

4.Add Highligter for that Extra Oomph
Do not be afraid to experiment a bit when it comes to night look. You can get a tad more experimental. Sweep a little bronzer and highlighter for those baked cheeky glow which always looks sexy.Do not forget to fill in those gaps with an eyebrow pencil, and make that perfect shape and highlight your archs.
